IOW Emergency Vets was launched in the winter of 2020 with the aim of offering clients and their pets of Pet Doctors and Medina Veterinary group the best Out of Hours service available on the Isle of Wight. Our ethos is simple. We will work as an extension to your primary practice veterinary care and support you and our colleagues with Out of Hours care. Our experienced and dedicated vet and nurse teams are solely there to support you and your pets when you need it the most. Working closely with our colleagues in Pet Doctors and Medina we strive to deliver the highest levels of clinical and professional support to you. As a client of Pet Doctors and Medina Veterinary group we are able to access clinical records to ensure we can make the best clinically informed decisions. IOW Emergency Vets are located in the Veterinary Hospital located at Riverway in Newport, which has been established there since 1998. You will all know it as Pet Doctors and formally the Riverbank. The experienced team will be onsite for you and await your call should you be concerned or need their help. Alternatively make your way there and call upon arrival. We are here to help when your normal vets are closed or having a well-earned rest. If you are registered at either Pet Doctors Ltd or Medina Veterinary Group then please ensure you refer to your daytime practice for their opening times. You will then know when to use us should you need to. Whenever your practice is closed – we are here to help! What are the benefits of having access to a dedicated emergency veterinary service? • On site vets 24/7 meaning you can be assured that you will have access to dedicated veterinary services when you need it the most. • Our night vets do not workdays, meaning that they remain refreshed to work throughout the night, every night. • Our day vets do not work nights, meaning they are refreshed and rested and ready to see you the next day. • Vets are always onsite during Out of Hours, which minimises any delay in being seen due to mobilising themselves and the team during the night.
